The traditional way of degassing your wine is to stir rapidly with mixing paddle. In a carboy, you have to turn the paddle around and stir with the handle, making it long and tiring.

However, there is a neat tool devised to simplify the very necessary degassing of your wine. The degasser/mixer is made of stainless steel and fits in a hand drill. It has a plastic lid to allow you to attach it quickly to your carboy and reduce or eliminate spills while you use it.  With the tool, degassing takes seconds as the two blades whip up the wine. You can also use this tool to mix your stabilizer, potassium metabisulphite and clearing agents quickly and evenly into your wine.

The degasser/mixer is a great way to improve your wine making and costs only $17.95!
